Eliza Rothstein

Managing Director

Eliza provides strategic counsel and communications support to boards of directors and management teams across industries. She brings a level-headed, balanced perspective as she helps her clients navigate special situations, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism defense, management changes and crisis matters. She also assists clients with ongoing investor relations and corporate communications programs.

Credentials

Eliza started her career at Joele Frank in 2015 and re-joined the firm as a Managing Director in 2025. Prior to re-joining, Eliza attended business school full-time and worked in the Strategic Advisory group at PJT Partners, where she focused on the consumer sector. Eliza received a BA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Eliza assists clients on both friendly and contested M&A transactions. Her experience includes Kansas City Southern on its acquisition by Canadian Pacific and unsolicited offer from Canadian National, Thermo Fisher Scientific on its acquisition of PPD, Rackspace on its go-private transaction with Apollo Global Management, CenturyLink on its merger with Level 3, and Agrium and PotashCorp on their merger of equals

Shareholder Activism Defense

Eliza has advised companies in both public and private activist situations against some of the most well-known activist investors including Starboard Value, Trian Partners, Elliott Management and Barington Capital.

Crisis Communications

Eliza has supported a number of clients on crisis preparedness. She has advised on unplanned leadership changes, earnings surprises, litigation, worksite violence and regulatory inquiries.

Corporate Communications & Reputation Management:

Eliza partners with her clients on message development to ensure information is accurately and consistently delivered to stakeholders. She also assists clients with quarterly earnings preparation, employee communications and investor conferences.
